What makes NewSchool special?
Inter-discipline with other design fields and the diverse ideology of professors at NewSchool.
What has been your favorite class at NewSchool and why?
Studio and Building Systems. One brings the challenge of solving a problem in a given scenario. Building Systems provide a realistic methodology and solution to what we do.
What has been your favorite project?
A Mixed-Used Urban project in Portland and Museum in Los Angeles.
Where is your favorite spot on campus and why?
Student Lounge: It has transformed to be somewhere great (and bias because I was part of the team that redesigned it).
What do you plan to do after graduation?
Work in an architectural office and venture to have my own practice if the possibility occurs.
What would people be surprised to know about you?
Architecture was my fourth major to study in. I studied 3 1/2 years bio-chemistry to pre-medical with a focus on Orthopedic out of high school. Transferred to Fashion Design for 1 year. 2 years in Business Economics and Finance, before finding my passion in Architecture at age 26.
What advice do you have for incoming students?
The road to your goal is never linear. But every obstacle and downfall we encounter builds who we are. We go through each day knowing we can bring something to our world, but more importantly, wherever we are: Be humble, be hungry, and ALWAYS be the hardest worker in the room.
