We are thrilled to share some exciting news from our alumni community! T. James Oneto, a NewSchool of Architecture & Design graduate and Associate AIA, has been promoted to Design Lead at the renowned San Diego firm, SILLMAN.
Leading with Sustainability, James has become a vital asset to the SILLMAN team, known for bringing a steady and reliable presence to every project he touches. His promotion recognizes not just his leadership skills, but his deep commitment to sustainable design—a core value we strive to instill in all our students.
Currently, James is playing a pivotal role in the City of San Diego’s EMTS Lab Remodel, a significant “Zero Emissions Municipal Buildings and Operations” project. His leadership ensures that complex design decisions are executed with quality and that the team remains aligned on these critical environmental goals.
Shaping the Future of the Firm Beyond his project work, James is shaping the culture and future direction of his firm. As an active member of SILLMAN’s Sustainability Action Plan team, he leads internal discussions regarding energy performance, carbon reduction, and responsible design strategies.
