Architecture is the process of exploring ideas that establish meaning in the craft of building environments for people. Our goal is to bring a level of craft and art to everyday life.
RNT strives for project truths that recognizes the vision of the client, our own sources of inspiration and sensibility, and the special qualities of a place. We enjoy revealing these project narratives through the craft and language of material, structure, space and light.
My particular interest is the painterly quality of light and the development of spatial experience and atmosphere that resonates with the program and vision of the client.
About the Lecturer:
Ralph J. Roesling, FAIA, is one of the founding partners of RNT Architects in San Diego and Ventura, California. With 41 years of experience in all phases of architecture and planning, he has worked with institutions and a variety of clients in California, the Southwest, and Japan. He has served as Principal-In-Charge and Principal Designer for various project types including educational, civic, institutional, office, commercial, and residential. RNT’s architectural projects have been recognized with over 55 local, state, and national design awards from the American Institute of Architects and other institutions. The firm has been featured in several architectural publications and a monograph: Roesling Nakamura Architects, Objectives in Practice, by l’ARCAEDIZIONI. Ralph has lectured locally, nationally and abroad in Japan, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, and Italy. He has been an active design faculty member of Woodbury University, NewSchool of Architecture & Design, and California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. He has participated as a visiting design critic at Kansas State University (Italy program) and University of Texas.
