Supplemental Instruction (SI) Tutoring
SI tutoring targets courses that are typically challenging for students. A tutor is embedded in the course and attends all class sessions, sometimes assisting during class time. Outside of class, the tutor holds interactive SI sessions for class members in which participants develop strategies for learning the material, review concepts, ask questions and help each other as a learning community. Research shows that students who participate in these sessions do better in the course. Keep an eye out, an SI session may be coming to one of your classes soon!
