Ms. Mun’s diverse history in academia and practice is embedded in her philosophy of practice that is a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach to design with the aim of creating an experimental ground for innovation. Since early on, her interest in how machines and bodies form a/synthesis in our environment were explored through design inquiries at various scales and domains. Working through analog and digital modes of production and embracing conventional techniques with advanced technologies, she cross-blends theory, practice, research and application focusing on the idea of Empathic Architecture, “architecture that feels”. Ms. Mun is a registered architect in The Netherlands and received her education from ASU (B.S.Design), Cranbrook Academy of Art (M.Arch) and the Architectural Association (Ph.D.). Ms. Mun previously taught theory & design at USC, UMN, AADRL, DIA-Bauhaus, Pratt Institute & Univ of Brighton.
