Blackboard and Microsoft Teams will be used for course instruction. Classes will be taught synchronous to your class schedule meaning you will be expected to be online during your scheduled class time/date. For scheduling conflicts, please contact your instructors immediately. Instructors will work individually with students in need of schedule adjustments during this time.
It is highly recommended students take time to become well versed with our online learning platforms, Microsoft Teams, and Blackboard. Links to online training are available to assist students through this transition.

Adjusting Your Study Habits During COVID
Library
The NewSchool library is working hard to increase online access to learning and research resources. We have already added over 4,000 new eBooks to the library catalog and additional academic databases to our Online Resources Page. There are many ways to connect with our resources and staff while we are closed or if you are working remotely. You can connect to most databases and e-resources remotely using your MyNewSchool credentials. The library is always available to help!

Guidance Resources Online
Personal issues, planning for life events or simply managing daily life can affect your work, health, and family. NewSchool offers free counseling services to enrolled students through ComPsych Guidance Resources. This is a no-cost counseling service that helps students address stress, relationship issues, and other personal issues that students may face.
This no-cost counseling service helps you address stress and relationship or personal issues that you and your family may face. It is staffed by GuidanceConsultantsSM — highly trained master’s and doctoral level clinicians who will listen to your concerns and quickly refer you to in-person counseling and other resources for:
- Stress, anxiety, and depression
- Job pressures
- Relationship/marital conflicts
- Grief and loss
- Problems with children
- Substance abuse
NewSchool Technology is working with a variety of software companies to provide students with the best solutions to get the software you need for your academic program. Faculty are aware of the potential challenges students may face without the use of on-campus CAD Labs and are required to make adjustments to projects and assignments this quarter.
For technology support and to inquire about hardware available, contact the IT Department at support@newschoolarch.edu.
All Student Support Services will continue to support students in the online environment. NewSchool staff is dedicated to ensuring students have the resources needed in order to succeed in remote learning and remain engaged to the campus community.

Asynchronous Learning
While students are expected to attend classes synchronous to the schedule, a broad look at accommodations is necessary to assist students who may require asynchronous learning. Students must complete and submit the Asynchronous Learning Form – Fall 2020 to their course instructor at least one week in advance if it is due to a scheduled event (i.e. surgery) or because of a drastic time zone difference to allow faculty to meet with the student to come up with a plan of action for the quarter. In the event of an emergency, then the faculty will make that consideration on a case by case basis.
