Construction Management

NewSchool’s construction management program and courses are designed as interactive learning experiences, honing the skills needed in each part of the construction industry and the overall construction process. Our construction management students learn to take an architect’s design skill and manage every aspect of the decision-making process including material procurement, client meetings, budget, basic construction management law concepts and safety violations. While other construction management colleges may focus on niche concepts, we place a strong emphasis on developing business management skills, preparing our students for the industry’s current and future challenges with courses like construction safety, construction law, and project management. Our undergraduate construction management degree program is offered on campus in San Diego, giving students the opportunity to attend site visits, network with industry professionals, and obtain an internship for ongoing career opportunities in the rapidly expanding East Village neighborhood. Our fully online graduate degree can be completed from anywhere in the world, creating a global network of students and alumni.

NewSchool’s Construction Management Advisory Board includes leading professionals from the design community who provide advice and counsel to the administration and faculty on employment trends, market conditions, professional practice, curriculum opportunities, current construction methods, construction technology updates, and other critical information to advance the school’s mission.
