Speaker: Len Zegarski, NewSchool of Architecture & Design

Len Zegarski, Program Chair, Undergraduate Architecture at the NewSchool of Architecture and Design, San Diego.Len Zegarski is the Program Chair of Undergraduate Architecture at the New School of Architecture in San Diego. He earned his Masters in Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin, is a licensed architect in California and Ohio, and has received a number of awards including the San Diego Orchid Award for Commercial Design.

In this lecture, Zegarski will speak about Louis Kahn whose work will be the focus of Louis Kahn: The Power of Architecture, and who’s architecture is regarded as a touchstone for 20th Century modernism.

As a young architect on the East Coast, Zegarski idolized Louis Kahn abd sought to develop up a personal friendship with the immensely talented architect. While Len pursued his own career as an architect he researched Kahn’s career, writting articles and essays on his works. Zegarski will provide the audience with a portrayal of Louis Kahn regarding his amazing accomplishments, his personal challenges, and unique character.
