Porto Trip | January 2019
In January 2019, nine second-year graduate architecture students traveled to Porto, Portugal with Associate Professor Tatiana Berger as part of their 2nd Year Graduate Design Studio. The group visited a variety of local landmarks including the Serralves Museum and Gardens, Boa Nova Tea House, Casa da Arquitectura Museum, and the town of Viana do Castelo. A highlight of the trip was the opportunity to meet with famed Pritzker Prize-winning architect Alvaro Siza and tour The Porto School of Architecture. After the meeting with Mr. Siza, the students will work on a studio project for a public library in Porto. Mr. Siza will continue to offer his feedback on the projects during the Winter Quarter.
