I am a proud resident of this creative, bi-cultural region that is Tijuana/San Diego. Being born in San Diego and raised in Tijuana, Baja California allowed me to be exposed to two amazing cultures. Growing up in Tijuana/San Diego gave me the necessary skills to adapt to environments beyond borders and those that are ever-changing. Another great benefit of living in Tijuana/San Diego is it’s incredible and incomparable food scene. Something that we natives take pride in!
I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at SDSU, which allowed me to work in the field of education with disadvantaged youth. After a few years of practice and a lot of traveling, I decided to dive into graduate school, earning an MA in Leadership Studies from USD.
In my free time, I try to be as active as possible. I enjoy swimming, especially in the ocean, yoga, and cruising on my 1967 VW bug whenever I can. I fancy on anything creative, specifically when it comes to music and poetry. Walking the studios at NewSchool really makes me swoon! The work that students put into expressing and manifesting parts of their imagination into sustainable, critically-thought out pieces, and thereon having them be taken out to be produced in our communities and around the world, is such an inspiring feeling. I really look forward to hearing more about your career goals, seeing where your creativity and imagination can take you, and how NewSchool can prepare you to make those possible.
