Faculty Spotlight: Elizabeth Barrie
Elizabeth Barrie is the Principal of barrie+co, a design and project management company in southern California. She has a diverse project background in Life Sciences, Healthcare, Education, Advanced Technology and a specific passion for Design-Build. With 25 years’ experience in both Architecture and Construction Management, she has an ability to marry the two to help clients take their vision from the conceptual stage to completion. Ms. Barrie has successfully led teams from 2 to 20, facilitated design charrettes and conducted numerous contract negotiations with Owners, Architects and Subcontractors. She has delivered projects on time, on budget and with zero defects. Ms. Barrie is an advocate for LEED and managed the construction on one of San Diego’s few LEED Platinum Buildings. Ms. Barrie earned her Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from California Polytechnic State University and her MBA from University of San Diego. She has also completed a Leadership Management training at Harvard Graduate School of Design. Ms. Barrie is a licensed architect in California and Arizona and she is also a member of the Design-Build Institute of America, US Green Building Council and the Construction Management Association of America.
