High School Design Experience

Discover your Passion - Join our 4 day Integrated Design Studio

Imagine yourself as an architect designing the next big skyscraper. Or, maybe you see yourself being a product designer developing the latest in wearable technology. For creative students, there are endless possibilities—you just have to know where to start. NewSchool’s Design Experience provides high school juniors and seniors an opportunity to be a design student.

Join other creative high school students and explore the city of San Diego while learning about design related fields. Through an exciting, design build project you will be introduced to principles of design thinking.

Program Description

The Design Experience is a fun and challenging four day summer studio for high school students. Led by experienced academics and practitioners, the activities teach you to think differently about design. By exploring downtown San Diego, the city itself becomes and extended classroom or urban laboratory. Students examine graffiti, urban art forms, product design, architecture and respond by designing an urban installation.
