Stones by Tecture

The 3 Bears is an exploration of fabrication processes in which each of the stones is constructed from the same material (plywood), with the same form, using varied construction methods.

The first stone, the most raw and rough, is created using analog sculpting methods and a chainsaw. The second, the vertically striated version, employs a purely digital fabrication method. The piece is assembled from parts cut on the CNC Router. The third, and arguably most visually appealing, is the marriage of digital CNC processes and analog finishing techniques.

Like the Goldilocks story goes, the first is too analog, the second is too digital, but the third is just right.
